Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students in our GSA (Genders and Sexuality Alliance Club) would like to create a library of LGBTQIA+ affirming books that they would loan out to other club members and students this year, and for every year moving forward! This is completely a student-lead club and this was their vision. They already devised a system to check in and check out. We just need books to make it happen!

The teenage years can be a really difficult time for queer students, and this library would offer these students a positive affirmation and hope in a world that is often not so bright.

We live in an area that can be conservative and actively suppressing of anything gay, so these students really need any support and joy that we can give them. Thank you!!!
