My Students

Remember textbooks? My students don't. They enjoy reading engaging texts with colorful graphics and well-written articles.

My students attend a rural school that focuses on project-based learning.

My student love to read and I'm a hound for good, age appropriate books. We do several class read-alouds, as well as book groups, which I call "literature triangles". I have 60 students, so supplying them with books is critical.

My Project

My students need 20 copies of How We Crossed The West: The Adventures Of Lewis And Clark, a nonfiction texts with colorful graphics and well-written articles. These nonfiction texts will lend to their understanding of The Corps of Discovery. They have awesome illustrations and well-written, age-appropriate text. My students will focus both on the content found within and the identification of main ideas and key words.

It is my opinion that Lewis and Clark led the greatest American expedition of all-time (sorry Apollo program) and I want to share it with my students.

These books will give them a foundation from which I can tell stories and and supplement facts. THIS is history!
