Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Each year I am excited to enter into the new school year. This coming year is even more exciting because my students and I will be starting the year in a new school!

My goal is to create a school and classroom environment that is inviting, engaging, meaningful and full of passion!

My classroom is a safe place where learning is fun but adds meaning to their lives.

Although I don't know my students yet, I already know that it is going to be such a special group of students! I cannot wait to meet them and see the unique qualities that they bring to our class. My students will be from a low income area and they deserve the best! Thanks to your donations, I will continue to be able to do whatever I can to help my students succeed and move on to be successful members of society!

My Project

Having a variety of books with a wide range of reading levels is so important in an elementary classroom. In my classroom, my third graders' reading levels range from kindergarten to fourth grade. While each and every student will be exposed to third grade level text, I feel that it is important to make sure each student is able to work independently on their reading skills using levels of text that they can actually read.

What student would want to read the same book over and over again?

Having at least 40 books at each level will help to maintain the interest level of my students. The goal is to see them grow multiple levels by the end of the year. In order to ensure that this happens, I need to provide a plethora of books! Your donations to help fund this project will allow me to be able to do that for my classroom full of eager learners!
