My Project
The use of collaboration and discussion is a crucial and daily activity in my classroom, especially in reading. When given a text or a fictional story, students often break into pairs, groups, teams, or partners for practice and discussions about the skill we are focusing on. Chairs and tables are used in the room, but not as often as the bare floor. Some of the students choose to stand at a desk, or lug their chair to the other side of the room to collaborate with their teammates. But...their feet get tired; their bottoms sore from sitting on the hard ground. Some fidget in their seat from having to just sit in a chair for the entire day. They try their best to focus, but it distracts from their moments they need to be having with their partners to collaborate, and share, and gain knowledge from each other. By having alternative seating choices, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and can continue with their deep conversations in learning!
By donating to our project, you will greatly help our students to have the freedom to choose where and how they sit, and ultimately, help increase their teamwork with each other!
My students will be able to focus in comfort and in flexibility. They'll be more engaged with their partners about the material, and know how uncomfortable their seat is! Student choice is student voice! We hope you donate so they will have many choices in where they can sit to level up their learning.
