I teach high school students in a small rural community, and everyday they amaze me with their creativity, resilience, and curiosity. My students are smart, funny and full of potential, They work hard and support one another and rise to meet challenges even when resources are limited. What I love most about them is how they build community in my classroom. They're not just classmates; they're teammates, encouragers, and innovators.
By adding a TV and gaming system to our computer classroom, I want to give students a chance to grow through esports- an exciting, team-based way to practice real-world skills.
Esports isn't just about playing games. Its about learning strategy, communication, collaboration, and perseverance. Students will use the equipment to compete, analyze gameplay, build teamwork, and even explore career paths in technology, game design, and digital media.
For many of my students, this kind of experience isn't accessible outside of school. This project will give them the chance to be part of something that builds confidence and connection- and maybe event help them see new possibilities for their future.
