I teach an energetic group of third-grade students in a rural town, located in Alabama, The Heart of Dixie. The school is a Title I school due to the area's socioeconomic status, of low-income families. The students that I served in the regular education classroom had a variety of learning needs. My students range from gifted, on grade level, to needing targeted interventions. In addition, to the role of special education teachers, the general education teacher works with students who suffer from autism, learning disorders, ADD, ADHD and etc. as well. This requires a vast array of supplies, materials, and equipment to aid in their learning. I am aiming to meet their needs by focusing on individual learning styles.
Strengthening and improving my teaching abilities are of high priority to me, because the educational journey is continuously evolving, therefore my repertoire of skills should be expanding as well.
I set high expectations for my students, thus the standards for myself must be equivalent.
Every now and then teachers need a teacher pick me up! Attending this conference will expose me to some of the most current research based strategies that will hopefully light my classroom on fire. I will spend two days with expert presenters as they share their passion and enthusiasm for education and give their tips, tricks, best practices, and teacher secrets to build a successful and engaging classroom.
I plan on leaving feeling empowered, motivated, and prepared to create dynamic lessons that will challenge my students and leave them hungry for more.
Get Your Teach On is said to be unlike any other educators conference that one will attend.
