Help me give my students a heavy duty cart, gloves, cleaning wipes, dusters and more cleaning supplies so they can learn how to clean classrooms and learn independent living skills.
COVID -19 directly impacted my students by taking away valuable time and abilities for my students to practice the essential job and employment skills gained through hands on practice and job training. My High School students have Special needs and require direct instruction in Job Training and opportunities to practice these skills over and over so they will be prepared for the work world. By giving my students the Heavy Duty Cart and Cleaning supplies, they will gain valuable independent living skills, employment, and soft employments skills. Help us level up by learning cleaning up! We will learn to wear protective gloves while working our classroom cleaning job training, sanitize all the tables in a classroom, how to dust the blinds, straighten book shelves, empty pencil sharpeners, empty trash bins, sweeping the floor, using a dust pan for the sweepings and removing all the rubbish from the room. The students will work in small groups for 30 minutes at the time. Learning the classroom cleaning skills will also assist the students with learning how to keep their own homes and bedrooms clean, as well. Cleaning is an essential skill that helps lead to success. My students need the extra assistance in learning these skills because the COVID pandemic directly took away two to three years of hands on Job Training Experiences for my students who are completely capable of not only learning these skills, but also carrying them over into their home lives and future employment situations.
