My Project
I teach middle school physical education in a low socioeconomic community in Brooklyn. My students are energetic, curious, and eager to learn, but they face significant challenges. Many of them don't have access to organized sports or even the basic equipment needed for physical activity outside of school. Physical education is one of the few opportunities they have to engage in teamwork, build self-confidence, and stay active.
Unfortunately, our gym resources are extremely limited.
Many of our supplies are old, worn out, or insufficient for our growing student body. My goal is to create a well-rounded physical education program that exposes my students to a variety of sports and activities, while also providing them with the resources to succeed. Having proper equipment will give my students a sense of pride and professionalism as they prepare to represent our school. This project includes basketballs, soccer balls, jump ropes, and cones.
By supporting this project, you'll be giving my students the tools they need to explore sports, stay active, and build lifelong skills like teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Quality equipment will create an engaging, inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
