This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come to me for intervention and support with reading, across elementary grade levels. They range from Kindergarten to Fifth grade and come with a variety of interests, strengths, and needs.
My students excel when given individualized, supportive materials that allow them to apply their new learning with independence.
This is part of our culturally responsive and sustaining practices.
My Project
These leveled books will provide my students with new books that they can read with independence. These texts can also be used to support individual students with becoming stronger readers, as they can be used as instructional leveled texts in guided reading instruction.
Leveled texts are an important tool to help students become stronger readers, as they allow them to read books at both their independent and instructional reading levels.
These new texts will help our struggling readers stay engaged in reading and continue to grow as readers and writers!
