Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

2nd grade is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are already on their way to reading novels and writing explicit stories while some are just now learning to read, write, and count. Our scholars are well rounded and you never know what levels you might have to teach to.

In this class, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences.

Summit strives to reach the whole scholar and that is what we are trying to accomplish when growing our classroom library. These books are just as important to me as they are to our scholars.

My Project

These leveled readers that focus on some of the lowest and highest in my class will help push my scholars love for learning. It is so hard to be able to find books that will satisfy all of my scholars and having more leveled readers will definitely help with that gap.

Being able to provide a wide range is one of the hardest things I have had to do in my classroom.

No scholar is the same and they are not interested and intrigued by the same books either, so to be able to provide this will be a huge positive and push in my class.
