This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My second grade students are very curious and eager to learn. They are a diverse group of learners who differ in personality, learning style, and skill sets. They are a high energy group that comes in to class each day with stories to tell and ideas to share. They impress me each day with their insightful questions and positive attitudes. My hope is to continue creating a positive classroom environment which gives them the ability to explore new ideas, extend their thinking, and grow each day.

My Project

Last year I switched from teaching 4th grade to 2nd grade! I need your help restocking my library with books appropriately leveled for second graders to use during independent reading, reading centers, and guided reading activities. Having books at the correct reading level is extremely important in building students’ confidence and reading skill set through out the year. Also, having an assortment of genres and topics to choose from increases student engagement and promotes a love for reading. I know my students will appreciate any help you can provide in achieving this goal! Thank you in advance for your kindness.
