My students are wonderful! I teach special education and have a range of levels from non readers to readers just below grade level. I have had the pleasure of truly connecting with these students as this is my second year as their teacher! I have watched them grow, reach goals, and mature, but I would love to be able to give them even more! I teach in an elementary school that serves K-5.
I work closely with 5 other special education teachers and our small groups require a leveled library to be successful!
We are often meeting to discuss how we could better meet our unique students needs. All of us have been collecting books through out our years of teaching, but a concrete leveled library would help!
My Project
There are 5 special education teachers that I collaborate with and we struggle with our reading comprehension groups for our students. Within our small groups our students range from non-readers to readers that are one level below grade level. This makes teaching a reading group a challenge!
Having a leveled library to share would increase our effectiveness!

Our classrooms do not have the technology, funds, or resources to meet student's needs. We all want our students to succeed and this is the first step. We truly care for our students and it is a daily concern that we do not have the resources.
