Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I service several students and I would like to be able to utilize all the materials I have in class. This means that I need to organize our leveled books. I would like to place the leveled books in order so they correlate with lessons and clearly label them for students to see and use when needed. I have the shelving for the books but it has been difficult for my students to find the books they need.
I would like for my students to be able to have access to all the wonderful books in class that meet them at their level.
Right now they are in the cardboard boxes they were delivered in and it makes it very difficult for students to use when they are at centers. I want to make it accessible so they feel successful as independent learners at their own individual levels.
I am also looking for materials that help my struggling readers with sight words and phonics. I want to provide incentives (stickers) when they are successful. I think the sight word blocks and daily workbooks would be a great addition. The draw, read, and write books would also be a great addition to the daily routine.
