Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are an energetic and the sweetest group of kindergarten. My class consist of diverse group of kids and each students love and respect each others culture and traditions. For example, during Diwali we made diyas (candles) and celebrated it. During Dias de Muertos, we printed these pretty skulls and colored it, during Kwanzaa and Hanukkah, we colored Kinara and Menorah and learned about it. My favorite part of teaching kindergarten is that they get excited about the smallest things like getting a sticker for winning a game or just listening, and the fact that the other students cheers and gives them a "roller coaster". The means everything!

My Project

We need leveled books for our classroom library. My classroom library leveled book bins are completely empty! I just received the bins and a shelf but no level books with it. These materials will help my students with their reading skills. They will help teach my students comprehension skills and to find their reading levels (A to D). I would like my students to borrow the books to take home and return to the classroom on a weekly bases as well.

My students LOVE our cozy little classroom library and it would mean a lot if it was filled with their level reading books.
