This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My third grade English Learners are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. They come from low income families and some of them are new to the educational system. I have created a space that is safe, welcoming and vibrant to provide them with positive experiences. I want to give my students the best I can!

My Project

My dream is to provide my English Learners with the best instruction I can offer. With leveled books that target each group of readers, I will be able to differentiate instruction and meet each child where they are so I can move them forward in reading. Guided reading will also help me assess both fluency and comprehension, which will enable me to develop a plan to help readers in the specific areas they struggle with. I have students with different reading levels; especially, my non-readers and emergent readers can experience the benefits of guided reading, too.
