My Project

I teach elementary students grades K-5 in a special education classroom. Throughout the day I will work with students from all different grades. I love working with these students because no matter what learning difficulties they have, there is always a goal they are striving to meet. These students work every day to reach these goals and push themselves to do things that they never thought they would be able to do. I am wanting to give students books they can put in their hands and read based on their own personal reading level.

Students with special needs should have access to books they can read and feel success no matter the level of reading.

These leveled readers will not only get books in all students hands but will also allow students to make goals of what reading level they want to get to. Students will be able grow in their reading and feel confident in their reading skills because they are reading actual books that are made for their own individualized reading level and skill.
