This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In my classroom, literacy and technology go hand in hand with my students' academic learning experiences. I believe that providing children the access to literature through a variety of digital platforms will elevate their desire to learn and improve their reading and writing skills on a daily basis.

As a Dual Language reading and math interventionist, I work with Kindergarten-5th grade students on a daily basis.

The goal of a dual language program is for students to become bilingual and bi-literate individuals.

My Project

I've utilized technology integration in my classroom for the past 17 years. Whether it was with one semi-working desktop computer or a 1:1 student computing environment, my students have always been provided with opportunities to connect literacy with technology.

As a Dual Language Reading/Math Interventionist, I would like to continue to provide my students with ongoing technological opportunities, as they continue to "level-up" on their literacy

skills. Currently, I have access to only two iPads in my classroom (one of which is an iPad 2). My students use iPads regularly to access a multitude of Spanish-language literature and applications such as Nearpod and Google Classroom. An additional iPad will provide my classroom environment with more opportunities to enhance their academic learning.
