My Project

Many children today need social skills lessons to help them learn how to respond and navigate areas of their life in a positive way. We teach our students the 7 habits of highly successful students through visuals, modeling, re-teaching and practice. We consider these skills invaluable as they can absolutely be used as they grow. As students are taught, we recognize their actions and reward them with a ticket. They put the ticket in a jar in their room. Each week the school also honors these leaders by announcing their names over the school intercom, takes a group picture to showcase them in the media and also post on FB. All these measures enable all the school community to celebrate these students' good choices. We would also like to reward them with a fun token so they can be reminded of what leaders they have been.

Our students also need extra reading building reading skills after areas of concern have been identified.

Having resources to make this fun and rewarding helps them persevere when they struggle to remain focused.
