it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The third grade students I work with at Young Voices Academy are mostly ENL students. They are young readers that are developing a passion for reading. They bring energy, curiosity and are a group of students that accept the challenge to learn new things and have fun while doing so. The fulfillment of this project will allow me to add high interest chapter books to my classroom library. When I wrapped up the last academic year, I asked my class for suggestions in ways that I can improve the classroom experience and the library became a hot topic during the discussion. They expressed they thought my new third graders would like more chapter books. As a new hire my classroom library was inherited and is made up of mostly of picture books that are not at the top of a third grader's reading list of book they would be eager to dive into.
