My Students
Finding a sense of belonging in high school is incredibly difficult. For many students, mine included, it is tough to find a crowd that shares the same interests and passions, and it is especially difficult to do so when none of the official clubs or organizations at the school offer anything close to what you'd like to see.
The students participating in this esports program know this is such a special opportunity.
These students work hard troubleshooting technology and communicating with advisors and one another to ensure this program is the best it can be. In many cases, these students know more about what we need than the advisors! Their willingness to experiment, grow, and compete in their spare time has been inspiring to watch.
My Project
Minot High School started an esports program during the 2020-21 school year, and we've been on the lookout for ways to expand these opportunities to students who may not already have gaming equipment lying around at home. Thanks to a generous donation from a local business, we were able to secure a couple of gaming computers so that more students have access to this team. Now comes the fun task of trying to stretch our money as far as we can.
Donations for this project will go to fund costly peripherals that will make the esports experience much richer for our students and stakeholders.
We are looking to purchase gaming mice and headsets to give our students the edge in our competitive matchups. The capture device will make it easier for us to stream matches on our Twitch channel and promote the hard work our players are putting in throughout the season.
