My Students

I work in a high-needs, high poverty school district in New York State. The students in my school receive free breakfast and lunch, as our school has a 95% poverty rate. I teach kindergarten with 20 students in my class. I love to watch my students become engaged while learning the new material. My class is a big family, and they enjoy working together and helping each other out. I enjoy coming into work everyday and seeing their smiling faces.

My Project

My students need leveled books to read during reading workshop. These eight different sets of leveled books will help students be successful since they will be on their reading level.

By having these books in the classroom, every day students will be able to feel confident that they can read the books they put in their basket and be successful with the mini lesson for the day.

These books are perfect for Kindergarten, and the pictures help support the texts and words. Please help support this reading cause and let my students be successful during reading time each day. I appreciate all the help!
