My Project
Our school’s varsity esports team is filled with talented, hardworking students who compete at the state level—and win. We’ve earned championship titles and even helped students get recruited for college scholarships. But unlike most schools we compete against, we don’t have a funded esports lab. We don’t have gaming computers. In fact, we don’t even have working PCs that can run the games we compete in.
We’re doing things differently: we’re teaching students to build their own gaming computers from scratch.
This not only gives them hands-on tech skills but also helps them develop leadership, communication, time management, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Students collect donated computer parts from parents and classmates, but most of the parts are too old or incompatible with current games. This is why we are asking for two new motherboards to build new PCs that will handle the technology that today's gamers need. This equipment with serve as the backone of two PCs that will help us level up.
I’ve coached this team for over five years. We’ve grown to more than 120 players, including over 20 girls—incredible for a school with so few resources. These students deserve the same shot as kids at wealthier schools. They can’t practice at school, and many don’t have the right equipment at home. But with your help, we can give them the tools they need.
We’re not just building computers. We’re building futures.
