My Project

KHS is proud to announce that we have received a $10,000 microgrant to expand our efforts in growing lettuce and sharing it with our community. This project is more than just about growing food—it’s about making a difference. By tackling food insecurity, we hope to ensure that fresh, nutritious produce is accessible to those who need it most.

My students will engage in community service by playing a key role in tackling food security within our community by leading a project focused on distributing free lettuce to those in need.

To ensure the community is aware of the initiative, my students will design and distribute newsletters detailing the dates, locations, and distribution process for the free lettuce. These newsletters will be shared both physically in local businesses and through digital platforms to maximize outreach.

In addition, my students will create and manage social media campaigns to amplify the message and engage with a wider audience. They will craft compelling posts, including images and videos, to highlight the importance of food security and encourage participation in the distribution events. Through this initiative, students will not only provide valuable resources to their community but will also develop leadership, communication, and digital marketing skills, furthering their ability to make a positive impact beyond the classroom.

This grant is not just financial support; it’s a symbol of our commitment to compassion, sustainability, and generosity. KHS is more than just a school—we are a community that cares, grows, and shares.
