This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 25 awesome kindergarten students live in the Bronx, New York. This new school year with my kindergarteners, along with some I had in Pre-K, will have a fun filled year of learning. Some of my little learners will be entering kindergarten knowing some of their letters, sounds and numbers, and some emergent learners. By the end of kindergarten, they will be leaving as wonderful readers and mathematicians. A kindergarten classroom experience is a time to foster growth and independence with exploring and active engagement in learning and play.
In order to successfully learn in a kindergarten classroom with students with a variety of learning styles, they need a variety of materials such as, a bean bag, foam dice, translucent color caps, and unifix cubes for math games and counting, lowercase Alphamagnets and Sight-Word Bingo for centers and morning tubs.
The kids scissors will be for everyday cutting focusing on their development with fine motor, and the playdoh to strengthen my students muscles in their fingers. These hands-on materials will allow my students to manipulate and complete activities and student work.
