This project will serve a group of elementary aged students who are destined to have huge impacts on the world. Although 80% of them live in poverty, and more than 60% are English language learners, they are hard workers who only wish to achieve, and one day leave their footprint on the world. Many of these young boys and girls are overcoming the language barriers of learning a second language, many of whom are separated from their families who live thousands of miles away. Some live just down the street, but need and deserve the enrichment that real-world projects can provide.
My Project
My students need large alphabet letters to build important vocabulary words. No two children learn alike, and adding this tactile element to our work may reach students who weren't getting the concepts any other way. As my students progress in their literacy skills, I need to offer a range of tasks that allow them to practice and show what they know. These letters will be perfect for their small hands. The larger letters are easier to hold and don't get lost as easily! The multiple sets will also enable them to each have their own letters and not have to share with a partner. Thank you in advance for considering this project!
