My Students

Hello, I am a eighth year ESL Kindergarten teacher. I love teaching and enjoy teaching more than I can say.

My students come from low income families.

We don't have many parent volunteers at the school, and there is not much money available to get all the things I would like to have for my students. I try very hard to create an environment where my students can develop a love for life and learning. I have spent a lot of money on purchasing fun and engaging materials for my students.

My Project

My students need upper and lower case magnetic letters and Letter-Sound Matching Board Games. I need more materials in my classroom to help my students fall in love with literacy. My students are learning ABC letters and sounds, and I would like to do more activities to reinforce phonemic awareness knowledge during the learning centers so they learn the letters that they are struggling with and start reading syllables.

I will use these materials for enrichment and reinforcement of the letters and sounds taught in class.

Kindergarten is the place where children begin to learn how to read. Children first need to know their letters and sounds.
