My Students

My kindergartners are smart, enthusiastic, caring, and polite 5-6 year olds with a lot of energy! They love to explore and learn through play. They are so much more involved when we have hands-on activities and games.

Every day in kindergarten is a new adventure.

My students make my life interesting, to say the least. I have learned that the busier we are, the better the day. Engaging them in active learning throughout the day makes learning fun!

At the beginning of each year, I have such a wide variety of learners. I have students who enter kindergarten with a lot of background knowledge (some are even readers already!), and I have students who have had very little exposure to learning. I try to provide as many opportunities for small group activities as possible to reach the needs of all of my learners.

My Project

Kindergarten is the first experience in a formal classroom for many of my students. Incorporating more movement and interactive activities into our reading curriculum will help my students be more engaged in their learning.

By donating to this project, you will be helping our students have an interactive learning experience as they build a foundation for reading.

We will use rings and mats to jump syllables, sounds in words, and much more! We will have hands-on fun with learning letters. We will use the Alphabet Sounds Tubs to sort objects by beginning sounds. We will word build and become READERS!
