Letters and Sounds and Words...Oh My!

Help me give my students materials needed to help them become stronger readers and chair pockets to help organize their materials at their tables.

My Project

Many of students in my kindergarten class did not go to preschool due to COVID-19. They started this school year lacking the skills needed to be prepared to begin to read. We have had to adjust how we teach to meet the needs of our students.

Now more than ever, teachers are put in the difficult position to close the learning gap that many of our students are struggling with.

I have selected some teacher resource books to help me support my students improve their reading skills. I also found materials such as, push pop toys, magnetic chips, and CVC resources that I can use to provide my students with hands-on learning experiences to reinforce phonemic awareness and reading skills. To help keep these materials within reach, I would like to be able to provide each student with a chair pocket so their materials are ready to be used whenever needed.
