it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students at RPES are celebrated by our school and community. We are all consistently aware of the central concern of our daily work: our students. Students at our school are imaginative, creative and intelligent.
Many of our students are English Learners (ELs).
Instruction that engages the five senses is effective for all primary students and critical for ELs.
Our first graders can’t wait to be back for in-person learning. Our teacher team is working hard to design multi-sensory and culturally responsive instruction, along with routines and procedures that maximize opportunities for students to develop their speaking, listening, and interpersonal skills.
My Project
These alphabet tubs have proven to be a magical, engaging and effective way to bring students to alphabet mastery! Letter names and sounds are the elemental aspect of learning to read. These tubs will be used during daily small groups to cement the letters and sound spellings we are focused on each week. Our first graders at Rose Park learned remotely for 75 per cent of their kindergarten year. We need to work urgently to ensure they meet and exceed learning goals this year. Alphabet tubs are multi-sensory learning tools.
