This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a preschool special education teacher and I currently have 8 students. We are BIG on Inclusion so we collaborate most of the day with the state preschool on our campus (total of 25 students). Collaborating with the state preschool has helped their learning grow. All of my students come from a low-income background, and they are very eager to learn.

My Project

It is extremely important for kids to work on their letter recognition skills at an early age. These materials will help me expand and continue working on their letter recognition skills. These letter manipulative will give my students a way to interact with the alphabet through hands-on play. This will give them a chance to feel the shape of the letter and arrange multiple letters to form their names or other words. My kiddos will be able to see and feel the curves and the lines that come together to form each letter.
