This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students need writing materials! With your donations our kindergarten students will have the materials they need to have a successful and organized writing program this year!

Currently my students are in a bilingual Spanish/English classroom.

Our school consists of mostly Spanish speaking students and from high poverty homes. It is difficult for our parents to contribute writing materials for the class and our school has limited funding for classroom materials.

My Project

These materials will mean that the morning and afternoon kindergarten students in our classroom will have the materials necessary to implement kindergarten writing lessons. They will have journals, pencils, crayons, hands on centers and organizational tools to embark on a positive and productive writing program.

Writing is an extremely important skill that students need to be successful in school for their entire career as students and in the work force.

I want to start my students off in the right direction. Making writing not only effective but something they can be proud of. Kindergartners are writers too! They haven't realized this until they have had the opportunity to hold that pencil and let their creativity flow! I want to help them to be powerful writers but I need the materials to do so.
