My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds and cultures, from high financial need to those who are not in need. My school doesn't qualify for Title I services, even though a percentage of my students qualify for some financial assistance. I teach in a suburban school in Texas. My students are very excited learners, who are willing to jump in and learn new things.

I teach in a relatively new school with a beautiful environment for learning, but my students are interested in what is out there and what they will be using when they leave the classroom.

Therefore, I want to encourage STEM careers and learning excitement through cooperative work environments. I also want to help raise and educate my students in their personal financial literacy building on a classroom economy. I am educating our future leaders, workers and professionals and want to give them every advantage. Help me to make them successful mathematicians and scientists!

My Project

Organization is something that a STEM classroom is always struggling with every year. This year, I want my students to be able to be more independent while keeping things easy to find and return. With the materials I am requesting, I want to organize my work station centers and store them so that they are simple to find and use.

I hope to enable my students to be more independent, through organization and a way to easily save class notes, I believe we can increase success and encourage parental support this way.

The Rocketbook notebook and pens will make it possible for me to take class notes and for everyone to participate in class examples that can then be shared with parents and students to help them understand our content. This year, I have several students that are learning English as a second language, and I think that through a partnership with their parents and being able to share notes and examples, this can help them to be more successful in their English acquisition. I want to increase parent involvement and use these materials to share home and school learning. I think this will help my students take ownership and feel that no matter who they are they all can succeed.

This project would help in every subject: math, science, reading, math, financial literacy, writing, social studies, coding, and etc. It helps all students and especially those with special needs.
