Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As we begin to approach mid year and state assessments, stressors and triggers are at an all time high for our students. The consistent stress of worrying about doing well in school, being liked, making and keeping friends; is a lot for any child. It is hard for most adults to self regulate and guides themselves through stress properly, so our children could definitely use the guidance. I would like to support our students by being able to provide them with an outlet to their stress.
This project will allow my students to organize their thoughts, pour their heart out, express their frustrations and move on pass an experience.
I would like to provide stress relief prompts for the students at various points through out the school. These would include quick activities, emotional and feelings identification cards, as well as strategies to calm down. There would also be a list of people that are there to support them in case they still don't feel better. Students would be able to use them independently or with the assistance of staff.
