I teach an amazing bunch of students at a high poverty school. My students are 60% ELL, some newcomers, with all different cultures and backgrounds. They are young and enthusiastic about learning. I also have students on the Autism Spectrum, and students with Special Needs. It's amazing how so many different learners can come together to create the kind and caring environment we have. I'd like to give them every opportunity to be successful in the future, by providing the best learning foundation.

My Project
I am trying to update the classroom to get my students ready for the future. I want to replace the old, dated desks with tables that will encourage the students to work cooperatively and facilitate their learning of the English language. This will also free up space in our small room so the students will have space to move around, sit on the rug with a book, or share rug space with classmates to work on projects.
