My scholars attend a Distinct Special Education Program that serves students with moderate to severe learning disabilities. My scholars attend a urban, Title I school in the most diverse zipcode in the United States. (98118 REPRESENT!) This is my 8th year teaching in South Seattle but my 1st year teaching at GHE and I feel so fortunate already. This school is filled with brilliant scholars, families, educators and community members who work extremely hard to serve scholars furthest from educational justice.
My Project
This project will help us sustain an instructional learning system during remote learning that is specific to each scholar. Each scholar will receive academic and social workbooks that are specific to their goals and interests.
Through assessments and feedback from scholars and their families, we will reflect and edit each workbook to continue to meet each scholar's goals and needs.
The pocket labels allow us to update the content without having to make new workbooks. The proclick binding allows us to add or remove pages in each workbook as necessary. The laminating sheets allows for durability and sustainability to use the workbooks over time. As an added benefit the lamination allows us to clean and disinfect materials to ensure everyone's health and safety.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our project!
