Our school is a Title 1 School in a rural community. The school is 100% free and reduced lunch with a free after school program to help with homework and provide extra time for computer use as most do not have internet at home. Our class serves students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder and specific learning disabilities The students are hard working. More than 50%, of the students in my third grade class read below grade level by 2 to 3 years. The class is made up of about 80% African American. All of the students receive backpack buddies for weekend eating. Despite all this, they continue to make growth in their education.
My Project
This wobbly cushions, fidget gadgets, and stretchy bands will let my students have movement in class while working. As normal, most 3rd graders need to move. The wobbly cushions will let the students wiggle in their seats. The bands will let those who need to just move their feet get energy out. These items will help classroom behavior and management.
I need more fun seating in my classroom.
The stools will give me movable seating that's fast and easier to more than chairs. The students will love having these to move around in class. I will love them for small groups!
