Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In the past, my students have been able to spread kindness with a small gesture and gift to share with all the staff members and volunteers at our school, and it has made a huge impact for both the adults, and my students.

This year, the students would like to spread a little happiness to those who help all of our students grow, in the form of a small live plant for everyone.

After noticing how many of our staff members enjoyed gardening, we started a Plant Club earlier this school year. It has been a real pleasure to see how many people have shared their love and joy of plants with one another and their students. Classrooms have been filled with lots of wonderful green spaces. The students have taken notice, and enjoy taking care of, watering and watching the plants they encounter around the building.

The plan is to order enough live plants to have students pass out one to each staff member and volunteer at our school, with at least 12 left for my students to each take one home themselves. mWhen I mentioned this idea about sharing with others to my students, they were so excited - they almost wet their plants!
