My students need DVDs as visualization tools to aid in their understanding of various scientific processes such as forces, biomes, and adaptations.

My Students

Science beyond books! ELL students need visualization tools to help aid comprehension.

My wonderful 5th grade class consists of 1/3 ELL students.

This requires me to think beyond basic books and pull in as many visualization requirements that I can to help aid vocabulary comprehension with not only these second language learners, but the rest of the students, as well.

My Project

Scientific videos will be an enrichment to my current science curriculum. In 5th grade my students are required to take a state science test. We work a lot on science so these videos will help my ELL students understand concepts that are difficult to explain or read about, for example: biomes, adaptations, forces.

By donating to my project you would be investing in the required science curriculum for my 5th grade students.

Your donation would give my second language learners another avenue of understanding: visualizing! What 5th grade student doesn't love watching TV? This is just an educational, fun way of enriching their knowledge and understanding. Thank you.
