Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I teach First Grade at a charter school in a very low income neighborhood. My students work very hard and deserve materials to make this fabulous project happen!

We are planning to study the rainforest as part of a school-wide endangered places and endangered species project. Since we can't visit the rainforest, we would like to bring the rainforest to us through books and by transforming our classroom into a rainforest.

We need many books about the rainforest- to be read aloud to the class, and also for students to read independently. We also need some paints and brushes to help us create a rainforest environment in our classroom.

Your donation will help bring the rainforest one step closer to our classroom in the middle of the city. Students will learn so much more about this kind of environment when they are exposed to it through books and by transforming our classroom into a tropical rainforest! Help the next generation learn about the beauty and importance of this endangered place!
