My Students
I am a special education teacher working at a low-income school. My students are very energetic and curious. They learn best visually with a hands-on learning approach. At times, we don't have access to the same resources as the general education class due to limited funds.
I work with students with special needs, ranging from learning disabilities to autism; they all have a thirst for learning.
Our school has a diverse population and culture with a wide range of needs. Our student body is a melting pot of local and military families.
My Project
Currently we are using our whiteboard to write, draw and showcase our student work using magnets. Very simple in use, project something on the board and use dry erase markers to interact with the information then turn around and erase it all.
However, with the portable Mimio Teach, we can turn any whiteboard around the classroom into an interactive learning zone to promote hands-on learning by interacting with the information, collaborate, have deeper discussions while using the whiteboard to our advantage and explore the endless learning opportunities that awaits each of my students!
I want my students to never stop inquiring, explore things beyond textbooks, show what they know and not be limited to a flat white surface. The Mimio Teach will definitely open the technology door without breaking our budget.
