Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Although our school is Title 1 Renaissance with most students on free and/or reduced price lunch, you would never know it by looking at our achievements. My students have very limited experiences in exploring the world outside of their home and school.
Since most cannot travel, I want to bring the adventure to them and what better way than having a great way to get to the world without leaving the room!
I too would like to expand and engage my students' learning beyond the classroom to include other areas around the world, their home, their lives, and their community.
I am sure if they are given opportunities to learn and have access to technology like other children do that this will help them succeed in school and in life. This project will help students realize that everyone cares about improving our students' academic success.

Having this laptop will allow my students to do research on their own and learn how to use other technologies besides a desktop computer or a phone...
Giving low-income students access to new technology is an investment in their future.
The addition of technology would give my students a much needed boost of practice in the areas of research and independence. Students who are confident in their research and reading abilities will be ready to face the challenges of higher education and the workplace. We will use these materials to aide us in the process of becoming life-long leaners and be ready for the world!
