Let's Think Outside the Box - Block Play at It's Best
My project needs imaginative accessories to add to our block center such as cars, stores, garages and traffic signs.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Craig's classroom raised $410

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I'd love to turn my bland and boring block play space into a bustling community that would include cars, people, garages, stores and even realistic traffic signs. Currently I am a third year Kindergarten teacher in a New York City public school.
We have many blocks in all different shapes and sizes. Unfortunately, there are no accessories to go along with the blocks. The children build roads and towers and even houses, yet they have no cars to go on the roads nor any people to play in the houses and towers. I feel that by adding some basic accessories to our block center the children's imaginations could soar! The children could build their own communities using stores, cars and even people. They could learn about the post office, police, fire fighters, doctors etc. by adding these people and buildings to their creations.
A great imagination can come to life with a few extra "props" to stimulate their thinking. You can help jump start creative thinking while my students strengthen their gross and fine motor skills through this imaginative form of play by helping to purchase these basic accessories.
