My Students

My students are in kindergarten and first grade. They are from low income households and a majority of our students are on free or reduced price lunch. While our students face many challenges, they always come to school ready to learn! I want all of my students to be excited about coming to school and learning regardless of the challenges they face at home. Every child deserves to come to school where they feel comfortable, happy and engaged in the learning process!

My Project

We currently do not have a classroom rug that is big enough to fit all of my students. This vibrant rug will not only liven up the classroom, but allow students to ensure they have their own space. Students will have their own designated space and not feel overcrowded. They will be able to utilize it throughout the day. Circle time, read-alouds and centers will be more welcoming. The colorful rug will reinforce skills of shapes, colors and color words. This project will take them on a magical learning journey!
