Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In these economic times and limited resources, my students are expected to meet our state standards in reading comprehension and literature appreciation, for this reason I am requesting a class a classroom set of Wayside School is Falling Down by Louis Sachar for our literature circles.
I have a classroom full of energetic twenty-eight fourth graders who are eager to learn.
We are part of a large metropolitan school district. My class is ethnically diverse with five percent of the students as English language learners. Two percent of the students receive special services.
My Project
As part of our classroom reading language arts curriculum, the boys and girls look forward to our literature circles on Fridays.
In the literature circles, the students are provided with the opportunity to express themselves, use reading strategies and make personal connections to the text. The students will then create book reviews to share with others
Your donation is a significant contribution in our class’s pursuit of expanding our literary horizons.
This particular title includes a rich exposure to figurative language and such exposure will influence dynamic writing.
