My Students

I teach in a small community full of kids excited to learn. My students are bright and energetic with the capabilities to do many good things in their lives. My students are from a small close-knit rural community that celebrates special events like the Maypole Dance and Pioneer Day. The area of our school is so large that some students need to take a 30-minute bus ride every morning.

I joined DonorsChoose because I know so many people that want to help our students and this is a great way for generous people to contribute and help our students.

I have been able to see many teachers and students benefit from the kind acts of donors.

Thank you for all that you do to help bring the necessary supplies to our classrooms.

My Project

I have implemented a classroom economy for the last 12 years as a teacher. My students apply for jobs and work hard all year to earn class money. At the end of the year, our class has an auction where students can bid to win prizes. Students voted on the grand prize this year and decided that it would be Nintendo Switch.

My students are working hard each day and doing their best to earn classroom money to bid on the Nintendo Switch.

Some of the ways students earn classroom money are by scoring 100% on tests, completing homework each day, fulfilling a responsibility every day in the classroom, and other jobs that teach responsibility and money management.
