Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are predominantly low income, free lunch and as we all see, children are spending an enormous time on screened devices. I would like to educate our children on the value of exercise, walking ,and encourage them to put down any electronic devices and get fresh air. The pedometers requested will show steps and distance ...all important for whole body health. These pedometers will be used daily during recess. Grades 1,2,3 and 4 will chart the distance walked daily and I will illustrate the distance with pins on a map. All the teachers and staff will be asked to join in and help reinforce a healthy community. I'm looking forward to all the great conversations we will also have while walking.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
