This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember being a child in kindergarten where your days consisted of hands on activities? Each day we would spend time exploring ourselves through art and play. Now with rigorous standards children are expected to meet complex standards. I am currently teaching TK at a Title 1 school. I have 24 students in my class 16 boys and 9 girls.

This bunch is very enthusastic about learning they are scientists, teachers and dreamers, who learn best with hands on activities that allow them the opportunity to question through investigation.

My Project

These materials are essential to the learning in my classroom. STEM in the classroom is essential to today's learning and my kindergarteners are no exception to this great shift. They are excited to share their thinking with those around them.

These children are hands on learners who learn and thrive through experimentation.

With the opportunity to try a theory and then revise their hypotheses the children are able to develop themselves as scientist and bounce ideas off of themselves as well as each other with fluidity. They then can easily shift their creation around to deliver a different outcome than possibly originally intended.
