Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 5th graders are eager, bright students. They love to learn in many different ways. We have children in our school from several parts of the world. There are local Alabama kids, kids from Haiti, Mexico, Guatemala, and several other areas. Having such diverse backgrounds brings different languages, abilities, and interests. We do hands-on activities, research, writing, visual activities, etc. We also work on Chromebooks in order to develop the reading, writing, and research skills needed to be successful in our world today.
My Project
We have many learning styles in our classroom. With children coming from different backgrounds and speaking different languages, we often use our chrome books for individualized help and intervention. It is so important to meet students where they are and help them grow.
It is very important to have all of our supplies organized and ready to go when it's time for a certain activity.
The lack of a charging station causes the Chromebooks to, at times, not be available when someone needs them. It also is hard to stay organized because they are in various plugs all over the room. It would make it much easier for the kids if everything was in one area and always ready when needed.
