This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"Once children learn how to learn, nothing is going to narrow their mind. The essence of teaching is to make learning contagious, to have one idea spark another." -Marva Collins
Every day, my kids walk into my classroom so full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
They come from various cultures and economic statuses. My kids love to read and write. They just need the "write" tools. I want to give them the resources to read, write, draw, and to be as creative as they can be!
Martin Luther King, Jr. said it best, "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education."
My goal as an educator is to teach and provide the resources for my students to reach their given potential, in order for them to change the world.
My Project
Recess is important! It improves brain function, promotes social skills, fights childhood obesity, and reduces stress. Everyone needs a break from the hard work of learning, and we give our students lots of choices and ways to play besides the playground equipment.
Help me give my students GoSports Classic Soccer Balls that will keep them active and show them that technology isn't the only way to have fun.
Sports participation is important for educational success— it's been shown to improve academic performance, cognitive skills, educational aspirations, and educational achievement
The stickers, rings, and bracelets will be used as a reward for staying active. These resources will make a huge difference in my students' learning daily. Children at this age need to develop these and practice social skills on a daily basis.
