This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have students who come from all kinds of backgrounds. They range anywhere from grade levels behind in their education to achieving far above grade level.
They come from troubled and unsafe neighborhoods.
Whatever their backgrounds, they still find the motivation to come to school every day because they know education is the key to their futures. Whether they choose to go to college or a trade school, I will help them to get there.
I want them to be able to reach those expectations that I have for them and they have set for themselves.
My Project
My students have a very difficult time staying organized and coming to school with necessary materials. I already have pocket charts for each of my classes (math, science, and music). I plan on placing mechanical pencils in these pocket charts for each of my classes. These pencils are not to leave the room but will always be there for them to use when needed. The erasers and lead will be used to fill the pencils when they run out, and the markers will be used to label each individual pencil so each student is ensured that it is their own pencil and not someone else's. Hopefully, not only will the students stay organized, but we will not lose as much instruction time trying to find materials necessary for the day.
